NHCA – Desert Cities

The Coachella Valley and its desert cities, known for their fast-growing communities, tourism-driven economies, and expanding infrastructure, are emerging as a key dynamic center for construction across Southern California. Ranging from new residential developments and resort expansions to critical transportation and public works projects, this unique region offers rich opportunities for growth, collaboration, and long-term impact. The launch of the NHCA Desert Cities Chapter reflects our commitment to empowering and strengthening our Hispanic Construction Professionals in this evolving market. It provides a platform for networking and leadership development and gives the communities access to the tools and resources needed to confidently build and expand in this beautiful and opportunity-rich desert valley.

Chapter Focus

The NHCA Desert Cities Chapter will strengthen the business side of construction for our members, with a focus on practical skills in Bidding & Estimating and Contract Management to help firms win work and protect their bottom line. This will be our focus this year, especially as we establish foundations in the desert. Along with our seasoned professionals in the communities, an essential element of this chapter's growth is the youth; driven, tech-savvy professionals, and entrepreneurs in the region hungry for connection and growth. Our programs - including Mentor Match, Poder Latina, and Leadership 360 - will be geared toward a modern, next-generation workforce. In unison, these efforts will provide the connections, mentorship, and training needed to grow and lead in today's construction industry.

A Message From Lorena Fabela, NHCA Desert Cities Founding President

As someone born and raised in the Coachella Valley, it is an honor to serve as President of the National Hispanic Construction Alliance Desert Cities Chapter. I've seen firsthand the incredible growth happening throughout our desert communities and the opportunities it creates for Hispanic construction professionals to lead, grow, and succeed.

Our focus this year is strengthening the business side of construction through education in Bidding & Estimating and Contract Management, while also investing in the next generation through mentorship, leadership development, and connection with programs like Mentor Match, Poder Latina, and Leadership 360.

Together, we are building opportunities, relationships, and a stronger future for construction in the Coachella Valley.
