San Antonio represents one of Texas’ most important construction and infrastructure markets, with strong momentum across residential development, public infrastructure, military and defense-related projects, health care, education, logistics, energy, and commercial growth.
As one of the fastest-growing regions in Texas, San Antonio continues to create new opportunities for contractors, subcontractors, developers, skilled trades, suppliers, and construction professionals. From Port San Antonio and the Medical Center area to expanding neighborhoods, workforce centers, and regional infrastructure needs, the market is positioned for continued growth.
At the same time, San Antonio has a deep Hispanic identity, a strong small business community, and a construction workforce that plays a critical role in building the region’s future. This creates a meaningful opportunity to strengthen representation, expand access to training and capital, and create clearer pathways for Hispanic professionals to grow from the field into leadership, ownership, and development.
The launch of the NHCA San Antonio Chapter reflects our commitment to supporting Hispanic construction professionals across South Texas by creating a platform for education, mentorship, business development, industry relationships, government engagement, and long-term economic growth.
Chapter Focus
The NHCA San Antonio Chapter will focus on building a strong local network that connects Hispanic construction professionals with the tools, relationships, and opportunities needed to grow in one of Texas’ most active markets.
The chapter will prioritize workforce development, leadership training, contractor education, business growth, and access to capital. Key areas of focus may include bidding and estimating, contract management, project takeoff, field leadership, bonding capacity, supplier diversity, and development capital.
The chapter will also work to strengthen relationships with local employers, education partners, workforce centers, government agencies, industry associations, financial institutions, and community leaders. These relationships will help create stronger pathways for Hispanic contractors, tradespeople, and construction businesses to participate in larger projects and build long-term stability.
With San Antonio’s connection to military, energy, infrastructure, health care, data center, and commercial development, the chapter will also support strategic outreach to partners who can help expand opportunities for members across multiple sectors of the construction industry.
Through mentorship, leadership development, networking, advocacy, and community-based engagement, NHCA San Antonio will help build a pipeline of professionals ready to lead projects, grow businesses, and contribute to the continued development of San Antonio and the broader South Texas region.
Message From Robert Saenz, NHCA San Antonio Founding President
I’ve spent my entire adult life in real estate and the deeper I’ve gotten into development and construction, the more one thing has stood out to me:
Our people, the raza is everywhere on the jobsite but we’re still underrepresented in ownership and leadership.
We have the talent. We have the work ethic. We have the experience. But being part of the workforce isn't enough.
I want to see more of us owning the companies, developing the projects, winning the contracts, sitting in the boardrooms, creating jobs and of course, building generational wealth.
That’s why I’m helping bring NHCA to San Antonio.
The National Hispanic Construction Alliance isn’t about starting another organization just to have meetings and events. It’s about creating a platform that helps Hispanic construction professionals go from worker to owner, subcontractor to contractor, and from participating in the industry to leading it.
And I can’t think of a better city for it than San Antonio. Thanks to NAHREP for powering this and I am excited to get this launched before 2026 ends.
